On Monday 4 February, audiobooks will host a private party at the Social in London to celebrate the launch of the video for their new single, ‘Friends in the Bubble Bath’, taken from their celebrated debut LP Now! (in a minute), which was released last year on Heavenly Recordings.

 

Speaking about the track, the band say: "It’s song about friendship, about living in the present, though still being aware of the transient nature of everything. But even when things pass, a skeletal memory remains which can still summon up a living essence. .... and enjoying bubble baths."

 

The single is accompanied by a video directed by acclaimed fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan, which will be screened at the event. “When we were asked who, in an ideal world, we would like to make a video with, the very top of our list was Alasdair McLellan,” the band say. “We didn’t actually think we had any chance of working with him, and so were delightedly shocked when it turned out he really wanted to make this video. It was such a pleasure to work with Alasdair, and a great feeling to know we could have complete trust in his aesthetic judgement. Also, the entire crew and cast who were brought together for the film were wonderful to work with and fun to hang out with in beautiful Doncaster and Sheffield.”
